Shohei Ohtani Steals 21st Base In Blowout Loss
5 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers may have gotten blown out 10-1 in Tuesday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies, but designated hitter Shohei Ohtani still made a mark, going 1-for-2 with his 21st stolen base of the season, a walk and a strikeout. Because the game was out of hand, the Dodgers pulled the 30-year-old two-way superstar in the seventh inning. With the stolen base on Tuesday, Ohtani has now swiped a bag in each of the last three games. He really can do it all, folks. Barring an injury in the second half of the season, the Japanese sensation could be the favorite to win his third MVP award, and first in the National League. Heading into Wednesday's game, Ohtani currently leads the league in runs (72), home runs (28), slugging percentage (.636), OPS (1.037) and total bases (222).
