Gleyber Torres Back In The Lineup Tuesday
5 months agoNew York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres (groin) is back at second base and is hitting fifth in the Yankees lineup against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Ryan Pepiot. Groin soreness had kept Torres out of the team's lineup since last Friday, but he'll return on Tuesday to face the division-rival Rays. Torres had been slumping pretty hard in the middle of June and for most of the season before recently picking things up at the plate recently. Since June 28, he's gone 8-for-26 (.308) with a homer, double, four RBI and four runs scored in seven games played. But the 27-year-old Venezuelan has mostly been a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2024, slashing .223/.297/.344 with a below-average .641 OPS, eight homers, 33 RBI and four steals in 314 at-bats. Torres has never faced Pepiot in his career.
