Rintaro Sasaki Looking To Finish MLB Draft League On High Note
10 months agoTrenton Thunder first baseman Rintaro Sasaki reached base safely in his first 18 games in the MLB Draft League before an 0-for-5 day at the plate with no walks on July 4. Before that game, the Japanese slugger was hitting .267 with a .929 OPS, but since then he's gone 1-for-13 with one walk and now has a .233 BA and .805 OPS. Still, the 19-year-old hit four home runs in 21 games, second-most of any player in the league, including a grand slam that came during the league's first no-hitter since its inception. The first half of the season, the only half Sasaki will partake in, concludes on Saturday, July 13.
