5 months agoAfter a strong first half for High-A Jersey Shore, Philadelphia Phillies pitching prospect Samuel Aldegheri has been promoted to Double-A Reading. Per MLB Pipeline, the left-hander is the No. 23 prospect in the club's system. Aldegheri has had a true breakout campaign this season, with a career low 1.06 WHIP to go along with a respectable 3.18 ERA and 95 strikeouts over 68 innings in 13 starts. It is a much-deserved promotion for the Italian-born prospect that has had everything clicking for him thus far in 2024. Aldegheri is still a few seasons away from the big leagues, pending he continues on the right track, but he has become an intriguing arm in the Phillies system and managers should consider keeping an eye on him as he moves up the ladder.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
