Is Denny Hamlin Underpriced In DFS For The Chicago Street Race?
5 months agoDenny Hamlin will start 11th in the Grant Park 165 from Chicago, IL. With what looked to be the win in hand just one week ago in Nashville, one that slipped away because of fuel issues related to multiple overtimes, Hamlin and his team will look for a bounce-back performance Sunday afternoon in the Windy City. While he has just one win in 52 Cup starts on road courses, and while he finished 11th in this street race last season despite starting on the pole, there are still some things to like about the Joe Gibbs Racing star this weekend. For starters, the 43-year-old has been incredible all season long. With three wins (tied for the most in the series), seven top-fives (tied for second most), and 720 laps led (second most in the series), Hamlin has been a model of consistency throughout 2024. These efforts, combined with the fact that you can get him this weekend for the ridiculously low salary of just $8,000 on DraftKings, make the 20-year Cup veteran a driver that is impossible to ignore this weekend in DFS. While we would not go as far as to say he is a core play, he is a value play, a label typically reserved for mid-tier drivers rather than the elite-level driver the No. 11 is.
