Josh Smith Remains Out Of Lineup On Saturday
4 months agoTexas Rangers infielder Josh Smith (glute) is once again out of the starting nine on Saturday as the Rangers continue a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays. Smith was left out of Friday's lineup due to hamstring tightness. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on the 26-year-old's status, as he missed a handful of games in June due to the same injury. The LSU product has had a solid first half with a .293/.386/.451 slash line. As a result, Jonathan Ornelas will man the hot corner this afternoon and bat in the nine-hole. Ornelas, who has appeared in only 13 major league games over the past two seasons, went 2-for-3 Friday evening but is best to be faded in DFS this afternoon as he will face Tampa Bay right-hander Taj Bradley. Bradley has posted a dominant 1.24 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and an 11:40 BB:K ratio over his past five starts.
