Junior Caminero is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 16 (2024). Target Junior Caminero as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in Standard Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: August/September
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays' top prospect, Junior Caminero, likely would have been up in the big leagues by now, but a quad strain has delayed his call-up. Caminero has been out since May 29 due to a Grade 2 quad strain, and the original timeline for MLB Pipeline's No. 3 overall prospect to recover from the injury was four to six weeks.
However, Caminero just passed the five-week mark on July 2, and there have been no firm updates on when he will return to the field. Still, the 21-year-old should be stashed in every fantasy league before Week 16 begins (July 8 to July 21).

Caminero is one of the most exciting prospects in the minors currently, and he is hitting .261 with eight home runs, six doubles, and 24 RBI across 34 games at Triple-A Durham this season. Despite the shortstop still recovering from his quad strain, he should be called up later this year. That makes him a must-stash option in fantasy right now, given his eventual upside in Tampa Bay's lineup.
