Jameson Taillon Earns Quality Start
5 months agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon worked seven innings to earn his eighth quality start of the season in Thursday's victory versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Taillon allowed four hits, two runs, no walks and struck out seven to earn his fifth victory on the season. Taillon was dealing for the most part on Thursday and now has a 2.99 ERA on the season. The veteran has put together a fine season, but his inability to regularly rack up strikeouts limits his upside. Taillon makes for a fine back of the end rotation piece in deeper leagues, but he is best suited as a streamer in favorable matchups. Next up for the big right-hander will be a tough matchup versus the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. Only managers with the middle name Danger should consider firing up the veteran in that contest.
