McCarthy has a strong track record at the John Deere Classic, tying for sixth place in 2023 and 2022, but missed the cut in 2021. One noteworthy detail is that during last year's John Deere Classic, over 33% of approach shots came from 100-150 yards. Over the past 12 months, McCarthy has ranked in the 82nd percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway.
