Jake Fraley Sitting Against Right-Hander
5 months agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Jake Fraley is not in the starting lineup for the Reds on Tuesday against the New York Yankees in the Bronx, even with a right-hander on the mound. Nick Martini, Stuart Fairchild and Will Benson are starting from left to right field in this one, with Martini batting sixth, Fairchild in the eight-hole and Benson hitting ninth against Yankees right-hander Luis Gil. It appears to just be a day of rest for Fraley, who hit .266/.324/.313 with no homers, three doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases in 20 games in the month of June. The 29-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder also has 11 total stolen bases on the year, but his fantasy value in mixed leagues remains limited as a platoon player who has been injured off and on this year. Fraley has managed just one homer and nine RBI in 2024.
