5 months agoWashington Nationals outfielder James Wood singled in his first big-league at-bat during Monday's 9-7 loss to the New York Mets. MLB Pipeline's third-ranked prospect also reached on an error and finished 1-for-4 with a strikeout and a walk. Wood showed great plate discipline in his first at-bat, forcing Mets starter David Peterson to use six pitches before Wood delivered an opposite-field single in the bottom of the second. Fantasy managers have waited for Wood, who hit .353/.463/.595 with 10 homers, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases at Triple-A Rochester, and have no plans to pry him out of their lineups.
