The 2024 fantasy football season is a few months away. While many fantasy football leagues have only one starting quarterback slot, superflex leagues are more popular than ever.
Fantasy players won’t draft Bo Nix or Derek Carr in a one-quarterback league. However, both quarterbacks are solid draft picks in superflex leagues, especially in the double-digit rounds.
While both quarterbacks are solid fantasy options, which one should fantasy players draft first?

Bo Nix 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Nix had an up-and-down collegiate career. He struggled at Auburn but was outstanding at Oregon. The former college star completed 74.9% of his pass attempts for 8,101 yards and 74 touchdowns in his two years at Oregon, posting a 7.4-1 touchdown to interception ratio.
The Denver Broncos made Nix the 12th overall pick during the 2024 NFL Draft. While he was the sixth quarterback selected, the former Oregon star is expected to be the team’s Week 1 starter.

Derek Carr 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Carr has spent most of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. After nine years with the Raiders, the veteran played for the New Orleans Saints in 2023. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the best season of his career. Carr struggled with injuries most of the year but still had 3,878 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions in 17 games.

Fantasy players should have high hopes for Carr in 2024. The Saints hired Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator this offseason after spending the last season with the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran quarterback doesn’t have an elite set of weapons but has two talented playmakers – Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara.
Who Should I Draft?
Both quarterbacks are solid QB2 options in superflex leagues. However, Carr is the safer pick. He has been a productive No. 2 quarterback for fantasy players in the past. Furthermore, the veteran has two talented pass catchers while Nix has a more inexperienced group.
