James Wood Officially Promoted Ahead Of MLB Debut
6 months agoThe Washington Nationals officially promoted outfield prospect James Wood from Triple-A Rochester on Monday and designated outfielder Eddie Rosario for assignment in a corresponding move. The news of Wood's eventual promotion this week broke at the end of last week, so he should now be rostered in all fantasy formats, if he wasn't already. The team's top prospect and No. 3 in all of baseball will make his debut on Monday against the New York Mets and left-hander David Peterson and will be a lineup regular moving forward. With clear 30-homer power from the left side, the 21-year-old will have immediate fantasy value in all formats. In 52 games for Rochester before being called up, Wood was hitting .353/.463/.595 with 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases despite missing some time with an injury. UPDATE: Wood is hitting sixth in the batting order in his MLB debut on Monday.
