Tyrese Maxey (finger) will miss the rest of the 2024-25 season. Maxey has been out of action since March due to a sprained right finger. The Sixers are being cautious shutting down Maxey with only six games left on their schedule since he is still dealing with discomfort. The 24-year-old joins
Joel Embiid (knee),
Paul George (groin), and
Jared McCain (knee), who are already out for the remainder of the season. Lonnie Walker,
Quentin Grimes, and
Jared Butler will continue to see an uptick in minutes down the stretch.

Tyrese Maxey (finger) will be out for a 16th straight game on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Last week, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse suggested that Maxey is expected to return to action this season. However, he has not been cleared for Tuesday's contest. Following Tuesday's action, Philadelphia will have six more games scheduled, starting with Thursday's meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jared Butler has started most games at point guard in recent weeks, although he could face extra competition for playing time on Tuesday, as
Kyle Lowry (hip) has been upgraded to questionable.

However, Maxey was a partial participant in Friday's practice, which suggests that he could be ready to rejoin the action soon. Due to a finger sprain, Maxey has been unavailable for 13 games.
Jared Butler and
Jeff Dowtin Jr. have shared point guard duties during Maxey's absence.

Tyrese Maxey (finger) has been working out. He's currently wearing a splint on his injured right finger, with the ailment keeping him off the floor for Philadelphia's previous 12 games. Despite the 76ers' disastrous year, Maxey has thrived, averaging a career-high 26.3 points with 3.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.8 steals. Nurse added he hopes Maxey will play in Philly's "final games" of the 2024-25 campaign. However, fantasy managers may not see him back in the lineup until next season. In the meantime,
Jared Butler should continue to fill in at the one, with
Quentin Grimes anticipated to benefit the most on the scoring end.
