5 months agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole looked like his old self on Sunday, tossing five solid innings against the Toronto Blue Jays and picking up the win in an 8-1 victory. Cole allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out six. Maybe more importantly, his fastball velocity was up to 96mph and topped out at 97.6mph, which is much more reminiscent of the ace that has been an elite fantasy option for years. Fantasy owners can breathe easier now and can consider starting him next week against the Boston Red Sox, although some caution is recommended.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
