Linus Ullmark Lands In Ottawa
6 months agoThe Ottawa Senators acquired goaltender Linus Ullmark in a deal with the Boston Bruins on Monday night. Forward Mark Kastelic, goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, and a 2024 first-round draft pick were sent the other way. Ullmark moves on from Boston after enjoying three strong seasons with the Bruins. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league's best netminder in 2022-23 and shared the William M. Jennings Trophy in the same season for the fewest goals allowed per game with Jeremy Swayman. However, Swayman pipped him for the No. 1 job for the 2024 playoffs and is set for a large contract extension this offseason as a restricted free agent, meaning Ullmark became redundant for Boston. He looks like a great pickup for a Senators team that allowed 3.43 goals per game in 2023-24.
