9 months agoEdmonton Oilers center Mattias Janmark produced the team's only goal in Monday's heartbreaking 2-1 loss in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Panthers. Janmark had a quick answer to Carter Verhaeghe in the first period after he had given Florida the lead. It was a big finish in the series from Janmark, who registered four points across the final four games. He totaled eight points (four goals, four assists) in 25 games this postseason overall following a 12-point regular-season campaign. Janmark, who also lost the Stanley Cup Final with Dallas against Tampa Bay in 2020, could be moving on from Edmonton this offseason, as he is on an expiring contract.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoEdmonton Oilers forward Mattias Janmark (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day. The Swedish veteran is dealing with an undisclosed injury and might be forced to sit out his first game of the season on Saturday versus Vancouver. Janmark struggled to make an offensive contribution last season, and things haven't improved for him in 2024-25. With 14 games played, Janmark has tallied one goal and two assists. He has averaged 12:37 of ice time, skating in a bottom-six role. If Janmark is unavailable at the weekend, the Oilers need to call up a forward from the minors or roll with seven defensemen.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

He's been out for 10 games with a shoulder injury but has been activated from Injured Reserve and is expected to join the third line. Janmark will be hoping to open his account for the season after going scoreless in seven outings prior to his injury. The 30-year-old will be joined by Ryan McLeod and Derek Ryan on the third line.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoEdmonton Oilers center Mattias Janmark (shoulder) is considered day-to-day. He missed his first game of the season Sunday versus Calgary and didn't participate in Tuesday's practice. Janmark will need to recover by Thursday to avoid sitting out another game. The Swedish forward gave Edmonton some decent production last term with 10 goals and 25 points across 66 games, but he has struggled to make a mark in 2023-24, going scoreless in seven outings. Janmark now also has fresh competition for a place in the lineup, with Edmonton signing Sam Gagner on Tuesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 years agoEdmonton Oilers winger Mattias Janmark (undisclosed) is considered questionable for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Kings. The 30-year-old didn't skate Wednesday morning for maintenance reasons and the signs aren't great regarding his availability for Wednesday's contest. Some reports are suggesting that Janmark might even be done for the whole series after suffering an undisclosed injury in Game 1. The Swedish forward was a busy man in Monday's game, posting an assist, along with two shots on goal, two blocks and two hits. He has been skating on the third line. Devin Shore is projected to hop into the lineup if Janmark can't play Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
