Don't Let William Byron's Shaky New Hampshire Record Scare You Away
6 months agoWhen you look at William Byron's track record at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, it may surprise you that the Hendrick Motorsports driver hasn't posted a single top-10 finish at this track in six career starts. He has finished 11th on two separate occasions, though. So what does that mean for his outlook this weekend, especially considering that the NASCAR Cup Series teams didn't qualify and only got four minutes of practice thanks to rain. Well, you should be a little cautious, but also keep in mind that Byron has been one of the best on this track type (short/flat) over the last couple of years. Byron has the best average running position (8.03) at short, flat tracks since the start of the 2023 season and ranks second-best in that statistic on them this season specifically. In terms of DFS potential, Byron's ownership is likely to be low due to his track record at New Hampshire, but at just $9,500 on DraftKings, it's definitely worth considering being overweight on the Hendrick Motorsports driver for this weekend's race, especially since he starts third and starts with great track position.
