Royce Lewis Homers On Friday
Royce Lewis continued his recent power surge in a 6-5 loss to the Oakland A's on Friday. Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo homer but it wasn't quite enough in the one-run loss to Oakland. The infielder's homer traveled 380 feet with an exit velocity of 98.9 MPH. Lewis has been on an absolute tear at the plate, hitting .368 with 10 homers, 15 runs, and 14 RBI over just 57 at-bats this season. While it would be impossible for Lewis to keep up this pace, he has certainly emerged as one of the most feared hitters in the American League. He is a no-brainer as a starting option in all fantasy formats moving forward.

Royce Lewis Reinstated From 10-Day Injured List
Royce Lewis (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned utility man Mickey Gasper to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Lewis strained his left hamstring in spring training and opened the 2025 campaign on the injured list. But the 25-year-old right-handed power hit is back now and will make his season debut in Tuesday's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. Even though he went just 4-for-23 with six strikeouts on his minor-league rehab assignment, fantasy managers that have kept Lewis stashed this whole time will want to get him back into their lineups this week. The former first overall pick in 2017 has never played in over 82 games in a season since debuting in the big leagues in 2022, but he has high-end power when he's healthy and is a lineup regular for Minnesota.

Royce Lewis Likely To Return On Next Homestand
Royce Lewis (hamstring) will play 10 innings as the team's designated hitter during a doubleheader for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, and then he'll play a full game at third base on Wednesday. Lewis could be an option to come off the injured list and play in Friday's series opener in Boston against the Red Sox, but The Athletic's Dan Hayes thinks it's likelier that he'll play a few more rehab games over the weekend and return when the Twins open a homestand on Tuesday, May 6, against the Baltimore Orioles. In two rehab games to this point, the 25-year-old right-handed power bat has gone 3-for-6 with a double and an RBI for St. Paul. Lewis initially strained his left hamstring in March 16 in spring training while running to first base, but he's on the cusp of his 2025 debut. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats for his high-end power stroke.

Royce Lewis Starting His Rehab Assignment On Friday
Royce Lewis (hamstring) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Friday with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints. Things were trending this way after Lewis didn't have any setbacks after sprinting on Monday and running the bases on Tuesday. Because the oft-injured 25-year-old has been out of action since the middle of March in spring training with a left-hamstring strain, his rehab assignment could be longer than normal, but there's also a chance he'll come off the injured list to rejoin the big-league roster at some point later next week. When Lewis does make his 2025 debut for Minnesota, young infielder Brooks Lee will head back to a bench role for the Twins. Lewis, the former first overall pick in 2017, has yet to reach the 20-homer mark since debuting in 2022, but he also hasn't played in more than 82 games in a season due to injuries.

Royce Lewis Expected To Start Rehab Assignment This Week
Royce Lewis (hamstring) is expected to start a minor-league rehab assignment later this week, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Bobby Nightengale. It's the next step in his progression from a left-hamstring strain that he suffered in spring training in March after he ran some sprints on Monday and ran the bases on Tuesday of this week. In addition to running, the 25-year-old power threat has been taking on-field batting practice and doing fielding work on the infield. If Lewis can avoid any setbacks with his hamstring this weekend in minor-league action, he could be activated from the injured list to make his 2025 big-league debut at some point next week. The former first overall pick in 2017 has high-upside power when he's healthy, making him stash-worthy in all fantasy formats until he returns.
