Travis Sykora Solid Over Five Innings For Single-A Fredericksburg
5 months agoWashington Nationals pitching prospect Travis Sykora turned in a good start Thursday for Single-A Fredericksburg, going five innings and allowing one run on one hit with eight strikeouts and two walks. In three June starts, the 20-year-old has a 1.98 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 17 strikeouts and five walks in 13 2/3 innings pitched. The 6-foot-6 right-hander boasts a high-octane fastball to go with a plus splitter and slider. The 2023 third-round selection of the Nationals has impressed in his first year of pro ball and while he is ways away from the major leagues, he is a name to watch as he progresses through the minors.
