The 2024 fantasy football season is still a few months away. However, fantasy players are already thinking about their redraft leagues.
Many will debate who should be the first overall pick in redraft leagues this year. Quarterbacks are typically the first few picks in a Superflex league because of the importance of the position. However, who should be the top pick in 1QB leagues in 2024?
Let’s look at three candidates I recommend considering with the first overall fantasy football draft pick.

Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey was the RB1 in 2023, averaging 22.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The superstar had 272 rushing attempts for 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading the NFL in yards. Furthermore, he was a force in the passing game, totaling 67 receptions on 83 targets for 564 yards and seven touchdowns. The only concern with taking McCaffrey with the first pick is his past injury history.

CeeDee Lamb
The former Oklahoma star was the WR1 last year despite a slow start. Lamb averaged 19.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 135 receptions on 181 targets for 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He ranked first in receptions, second in receiving yards, and third in touchdowns last season. He also had 113 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in 2023.

Breece Hall
Fantasy players were nervous about drafting Hall last year. The do-it-all back had an impressive rookie season before suffering a torn ACL. More importantly, the New York Jets added Dalvin Cook during the preseason, making many worry about Hall. However, he was outstanding despite playing on an awful offense, totaling 1,585 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns in 2023. Hall should be even better this year after the team improved their offensive line this offseason.

Which Player Should I Draft With The First Overall Pick?
Anyone lucky enough to land the top pick in their fantasy football draft should welcome this difficult decision. All three candidates are outstanding players and should have a high-end finish in 2024. However, McCaffrey will be the consensus 1.01 pick this season. He has been unstoppable throughout his NFL career, and he's likely to be the top-scoring player this year if he can stay healthy.
