10 months agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is set for his 22nd start of the 2024 postseason on Tuesday against Edmonton, looking to close out the 2024 Stanley Cup Final after having a rough night at the office in Game 4. Bobrovsky was chased in Saturday's 8-1 defeat when he allowed five goals on 16 shots. The horrible outing ended a run of six consecutive victories for the two-time Vezina Trophy winner. Bobrovsky will hope to produce another strong bounce-back effort on Tuesday after going 4-1 following losses in the 2024 playoffs. He has allowed 1.97 goals in these games with a .914 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (personal) will be back in action on Saturday against San Jose. He's sat out a pair of contests for personal reasons. Bobrovsky has won each of his last two starts, sporting an 11-5-1 record for the season. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner carries a strong record despite allowing over three goals per game (3.04) and posting a subpar .890 save percentage. Bobrovsky is expected to grab another victory on Saturday, with the Panthers a massive -385 favorite for the game. But the Sharks have had some success lately, going 4-2-0 in their last six contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (personal) will remain unavailable for Thursday's contest against Philadelphia. He's set to become a father for the second time and is currently away from the team. Panthers head coach Paul Maurice is hopeful that Bobrovsky might be back for Saturday's meeting with San Jose. Spencer Knight will pick up a third consecutive start on Thursday. He's had a couple of completely different outings in the past two games. The 23-year-old registered his first shutout of the season last Saturday in a 6-0 win over Carolina but was lit up for five goals on 16 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss against Pittsburgh. Knight has a 4-4-1 record for the campaign, with 2.60 goals allowed.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (personal) will not suit up for Tuesday's meeting with Pittsburgh. He has not traveled with the team to the game, as Bobrovsky and his wife are expecting a child. The former Vezina Trophy winner has looked shaky at times, logging a 3.04 goals-against average with a .890 save percentage, but he still carries a solid 11-5-1 record. Spencer Knight is expected to fill in for Bobrovsky on Tuesday, with Chris Driedger called up from the minors to dress as the backup. Knight's work has been more efficient in 2024-25 compared to Bobrovsky, as he has allowed 2.31 goals with a .911 save percentage. However, the 23-year-old has a mediocre 4-4-0 record. He impressed with a shutout performance against Carolina in his last start, but Knight hasn't yet won back-to-back starts this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will start on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. Bobrovsky played a big role in Florida's second-round victory over the Bruins in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, allowing two or fewer goals in five of six games, and he can now frustrate them again on Tuesday night in Florida's season opener. However, the Russian netminder has seen very little success in the matchup during the regular season, going 4-11-4. He lost all four regular-season clashes with the Bruins last term, posting a 3.24 goals-against average with a .871 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
