6 months agoDenny McCarthy played a very good second round at the U.S. Open. The American golfer appeared poised to make a move and then Saturday happened. It was not so much the 72 but the several missed putts on the Front 9 and several missed shots on the Back 9. McCarthy dropped out of the Top 20 on Sunday and outside the Top 30. Overall, it was still a solid showing on a course that did not suit him. The good news is that McCarthy has an 87.5% made cut rate. The bad news is the question mark of staying in contention.
