Shane Baz is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 13 (2024). Target Shane Baz as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in all leagues
CALL-UP ETA: By the end of June
ANALYSIS: It’s always tricky to try to figure out when to pull the trigger on a prospect in the minors, especially in redraft leagues. It might be the last call on Shane Baz. On the road back from Tommy John surgery, Baz has hit his stride in June and his past two starts have happened to be his best of 2024.
He reached the five-inning plateau two starts ago and threw six innings on Friday. The talented right-hander allowed a combined two earned runs in those two outings with 18 strikeouts and three walks, lowering his ERA this month to 1.20 with a 1.00 WHIP. Yes, it’s Triple-A but those numbers are eye-popping.
Clap it up for another strong outing from Shane Baz
His final line tonight:

With another start or two in Durham like the past few, Baz could force his way into the Rays rotation. When he does, he has the tools and the pedigree to stick. The signs that he is ready are there in plain sight. It would be wise for fantasy managers in leagues of all sizes to take notice.
