Emerson Hancock Heads Back To Triple-A
6 months agoThe Seattle Mariners optioned right-hander Emerson Hancock to Triple-A Tacoma after his start on Thursday and recalled right-hander Cody Bolton from Tacoma on Friday. Hancock made a spot start against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday and delivered a quality start, allowing only two runs in seven innings of work. But despite the solid showing, the 25-year-old will head back to the farm to continue his development. The former sixth overall pick in 2020 out of Georgia had a 4.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with six strikeouts and three walks in three starts in his rookie year in 2023. In eight starts so far in 2024, he's 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 24 K's and 13 walks in 41 1/3 innings pitched. Hancock will most likely be back to help out in Seattle's rotation at some point this year, at which point he'll be a streaming option in fantasy in deeper leagues.
