San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is the clear-cut consensus RB1 in fantasy football drafts this year. However, some might want to avoid the veteran running back, given his age and injury history.
Meanwhile, the debate for the No. 2 running back off the board is debatable between the New York Jets’ Breece Hall and the Atlanta Falcons’ Bijan Robinson.
Which running back should fantasy players draft in 2024? Let’s dive into it.

Breece Hall 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Hall was the RB4 last season, averaging 14.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The superstar was outstanding despite spending the first month of the year on a snap count. He averaged only 9.3 touches and 6.9 fantasy points per game over the first four weeks.
However, Hall was unbelievable to end the season. Despite having only five rushing touchdowns, the superstar put up 17.5 or more fantasy points in nearly half of the games in 2023. More importantly, he should be even better this upcoming season after the Jets massively improved their offensive line this offseason.

Bijan Robinson 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Many had high hopes for Robinson after the Falcons made him the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, Arthur Smith had other plans. The superstar rookie had multiple games with seven or fewer rushing attempts. Furthermore, Tyler Allgeier had only 28 fewer rushing attempts than Robinson despite playing 411 fewer snaps in 2023.
Thankfully, the former Texas star made up for his former head coach’s stupidity. Robinson was the RB9 as a rookie, averaging 12.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Despite playing on an awful passing attack, his four receiving touchdowns were the most on the team last year.

Who Should I Draft?
Fantasy players can’t go wrong with drafting either running back. Furthermore, anyone in a salary cap or auction league should try to draft both players. However, there must be a winner in this head-to-head battle.
Hall is the RB2 in my early PPR and half-point PPR rankings because of his expected workload in the passing game. However, Robinson is my RB2 in my non-PPR rankings because he should get more touchdown opportunities on a better offense. Fantasy players can flip a coin when making this draft decision, as both running backs have a chance to be the overall RB1 in 2024.
