Niko Kavadas Off To Slow Start To June At Triple-A Worcester
6 months agoBoston Red Sox first base prospect Niko Kavadas is just 4-for-28 in June for Triple-A Worcester. He does have two homers and five RBIs in eight games this month but has accumulated a .393 slugging percentage. The first baseman has shown that he can get on base at an elite rate in Triple-A this season with a .412 on-base percentage and has shown plus power with 12 homers and 37 RBI. With Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas (ribs) still recovering from a rib injury, Kavadas is an interesting name to monitor. The 25-year-old is not among the top 30 prospects in the Red Sox system, but his numbers at Worcester this year suggest he could help in a pinch at the big league level. Despite an early June swoon, Kavadas has turned heads at Triple-A with his production and ability to get on base.
