A couple of weeks ago, we launched a new MLB DFS piece here at RotoBaller that is specifically focused on saving you DFS salary when you go to build your daily fantasy baseball lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings tonight!
We will be hunting for bargains daily because nailing some value picks that produce is one of the best ways to build a winning DFS lineup. How else are you going to afford all of those expensive bats in the Cincinnati game?
This article will provide my top DFS value picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/12/2024. We aim for hitters who cost less than 4K on DraftKings and less than 3K on FanDuel. For pitchers, the general guideline is under 7K on DraftKings and under 8K on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for baseball and other sports here. Don't forget to monitor MLB injury news and today's MLB starting lineups!
MLB DFS Value Plays - Pitcher(s)
Cody Poteet at KC ($6.9K DraftKings; $8.3K FanDuel)
Poteet is a bit over the threshold on FanDuel, but the guy just held the Dodgers scoreless for 4 2/3 innings in his last start (on just two hits). He deserves a mention. He's not a big strikeout guy, which is a knock against him on FanDuel. However, he's a nice SP2 option on DraftKings since he gets a lot of ground-ball outs and usually has good control.
David Peterson vs. MIA ($6.3K DraftKings; $6.8K FanDuel)
The Marlins have struggled against left-handed pitching this year with just a .220 average and .318 SLG. They strike out 22.4% of the time, which is high enough to give Peterson some sneaky value. He only has five strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings this year, but he held the Dodgers and Nationals to two runs each. Both teams hit lefties well. There's solid potential for the price tonight.
MLB DFS Value Plays - Infielders
Mark Vientos, 3B - NYM vs. Braxton Garrett ($3.6K DK; $3.1K FD)
All Mark Vientos has done since be re-called from Triple-A is MASH!!!#LGM
— Casey (@CaseyJ_516) June 11, 2024
Can you imagine where the Mutts would be had they pulled the plug on Brett Baty earlier in the season? Vientos is hitting .375 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs, four doubles, and six walks in the last 10 games. He is doing a little bit of everything for the Amazins, including tuning up southpaws at a .385 clip with 11 of his 15 RBI coming against lefties. Braxton Garrett, you've been warned.
Andrew Vaughn, 1B - CWS vs. Bryce Miller ($3.4K DK; $2.7K FD)
Vaughn is hitting .364 with three homers and five RBI during an 11-game hitting streak that dates back to the end of last month. The nine runs scored are a nice touch and he recorded his first steal of the year in that span. Things are trending up for Vaughn and should continue against Miller. He smashes splitters and sinkers, which are the secondary pitches that Miller uses most.
Paul DeJong, SS - CWS vs. Bryce Miller ($3.3K DK; $2.9K FD)
I promise that I'm not really going after Miller, but the fact is that the Sox are scoring runs lately and they're cheap. DeJong is raking in June with five homers and 10 RBI in 10 games. He hits Miller's secondary pitches reasonably well, so I'll take a shot with a couple of cheap Sox so I can get some Reds.

MLB DFS Value Plays - Outfielders
Luke Raley, OF - SEA vs. Jonathan Cannon ($3.6K DK; $2.5K FD)
Oh wow, look at that price on FanDuel! Let's just put a little lock button on Raley right now! He has three hits in the first two games of this series going against a rookie that has struggled a bit in his first taste of the majors. On top of that, the White Sox have the second-worst bullpen ERA in the majors. Seattle has scored 12 runs in the first two games of the series. We should see plenty more tonight!
Wyatt Langford, OF - TEX vs. Walker Buehler ($3.5K DK; $2.7K FD)
Buehler...Buehler. Has anyone seen the 2023 version of Walker Buehler? The former ascending star has hit the skids lately, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) over 14 2/3 innings in his last three starts. Meanwhile, Langford has four multi-hit efforts in his last 10 games with his only homer of the season coming in that span. I want some cheap exposure to Buehler and Leody Taveras mired in an awful slump. I'll take my chances with the kid.
David Dahl, OF - PHI vs. Nick Pivetta ($3K DK; $2.5K FD)
Value is tougher to find in the outfield tonight. I don't love this matchup for Dahl, but the former Rockies top prospect has two homers in his first four games as a Phillies player. He has four hits and three runs in just 10 at-bats. There might just be something here.
