Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash (Week 12): Redraft Rankings

Jasson Dominguez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Eric Cross's top 25 fantasy baseball prospects rankings for Week 12 (2024). MLB prospects, rookies, call-ups who can be fantasy baseball sleepers in redraft.

What a week it was for prospect promotions! In addition to Joey Loperfido being recalled due to Kyle Tucker landing on the IL, we also saw the debuts of Cade Povich, Hurston Waldrep, Adael Amador, and Tyler Locklear, and Drew Thorpe is debuting on Tuesday.

But even with all these names being called up, there are still plenty of exciting prospects to stash that could be gracing us with their presence in the Majors over the next few weeks.

Remember, stashing prospects should be done strategically and varies from league to league. Don't leave your teams without much depth just because you want all the high-upside prospects on your roster.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects for 2024

Notes on plenty of prospects can be found below the rankings table. And remember, these rankings are for 2024 redraft value only. These are MLB prospects to make a rest-of-season fantasy baseball impact in 2024 potentially.

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Analysis

Jasson Dominguez, New York Yankees

With one game left in his 20-game rehab stint, Jasson Dominguez is slashing .380/.429/.690 with four doubles and six home runs in 19 games. It's obvious that Dominguez is talented enough to rejoin the Yankees lineup, but with Juan Soto back in the lineup, where does he play? The weak link in the Yankees outfield currently is Alex Verdugo but he's not exactly playing poorly. But even with the uncertain playing time outlook, Dominguez 100% needs to be stashed and rostered in all redraft leagues, given his immense offensive potential.

Chase DeLauter, Cleveland Guardians

If you were holding out hope for Chase DeLauter making an impact this season, our hopes were nearly depleted with yet another IL stint. And guess what body part is the issue once again? That's right, it's another foot injury! Martin Sekulski said it best and gave me a hilarious visual when he said, "Maybe just go without feet?" At this point, DeLauter's chances of debuting in 2024 haven't been 100% erased, but it would likely only be for a late-season cup of coffee. He's not a prospect that needs to be stashed right now.

Jackson Holliday, Baltimore Orioles

There's no doubt in my mind that Jackson Holliday will receive another extended chance with Baltimore this season. But when? As we all know, Baltimore is loaded, and recently, Connor Norby, who has already done more than Holliday did in his first stint with the big club, was called up for his debut. But Holliday is the crown jewel of this system and is red hot over his last 16 games, slashing .310/.437/.569 with six doubles and three home runs. If you've been stashing him, the best course of action is to continue doing so.

Max Meyer, Miami Marlins

Your time to stash Max Meyer is running out quickly, as it sounds like the 2020 #3 overall pick will rejoin the rotation later this week after spending the last two months in the minors. Meyer impressed in his three starts with Miami earlier this season, posting a 2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 16.9% K-BB rate. Yes, the strikeout rate was a pedestrian 21.5%, but Meyer has the upside of a 26-28% strikeout rate thanks to his nasty slider and solid changeup. The innings will likely continue to be limited, but Meyer could provide top-40 SP value over the remainder of the season.

Shane Baz, Tampa Bay Rays

Switching to the other Florida baseball team, Shane Baz is inching closer and closer to his return to Tampa Bay's rotation as well. Baz just had his best and longest outing since returning from the IL, tossing five innings of one-run ball with 10 strikeouts on Saturday. There's no immediate opening in Tampa Bay, but I'd imagine Baz could be the next man up when a spot opens up, and you're going to miss out on a potential Top 30 SP ROS if you wait too long to stash. As with Meyer, the innings will be strictly monitored, but the upside is massive.

David Festa, Minnesota Twins

At the moment, the Minnesota Twins don't have a need in their rotation, but they have two phenomenal candidates to step in if the need arises. More than likely, David Festa would be the first in line. The 6'6 right-hander currently sports a 3.56 ERA and 34.8% strikeout rate for Triple-A St. Paul but also has a 1.40 WHIP and 11.8% walk rate. Festa's never really had a command/control problem, so the walk rate doesn't bother me, though. Once up, Festa would bring solid intrigue, given his three above-average offerings and ability to miss bats at a high clip.

Zebby Matthews, Minnesota Twins

At this point, I wouldn't entirely rule out a Zebby Matthews promotion from Double-A, either. Matthews has been lights out this season and makes a strong claim to having the best command and control in the minors. In 52.1 innings between Hi-A and Double-A this season, Matthews has a whopping two walks. TWO! Oh yeah, he also has a 1.38 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, and 32.8% strikeout rate. Given his blend of bat-missing stuff, elite command, and control, Matthews is in the Top 10 pitching prospect discussion and could skip Triple-A entirely because of it.
