Rafael Devers Could Return Tuesday
6 months agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (knee) was not in the starting lineup for the series finale on Sunday against the Chicago White Sox, but the Red Sox are hoping he can return for Tuesday's series opener against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies. Devers was removed from Saturday's game early, and manager Alex Cora said Devers' left knee, which he pushes off of while hitting, was bothering him when he was loading. Boston has an off day on Monday. Devers dealt with a bone bruise in his left knee in April. He didn't go on the injured list but missed five straight games. The lefty slugger the new issue isn't as serious as what he experienced last month, but fantasy managers will need to check Boston's lineup on Tuesday to make sure Devers is back in there. The 27-year-old is a must-start in fantasy when he's active and is currently hitting .284/.375/.557 with a .932 OPS and 13 homers in 201 at-bats this year.
