Tyler Reddick Earns 10th Top-10 Finish Of 2024 At Sonoma Raceway
6 months agoOn Sunday afternoon, Tyler Reddick finished eighth in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Overall, Sunday was a decent day for Reddick as he earned his 10th top-10 of the season, which is the most of any driver in the Cup Series. Unfortunately for the 23XI star, Sunday will also be looked back on as one of those "what could have been?" races, given how strong he looked throughout the contest. In fact, his 35 lead laps and 14 fastest laps ranked him first in each category, generating 15.05 points for the 31.32% that rostered him on DraftKings. While there is no question that the 28-year-old was one of the stronger cars in Sunday's race, it is less clear where the blame for losing the race should go. Whether it was the decision to pit on lap 54, which was after other race contenders pitted, or the potential damage to his car that he reported to his crew on lap 60, something changed what could have been a monster day for the Corning, California native. Nevertheless, while the No. 45 can certainly learn from whatever mistakes were made, it is not something he can dwell too much on as he now must shift attention away from wine country to the cornfields of Iowa for next Sunday's Cup Series debut at Iowa Speedway.
