Michael Toglia Likely To Rejoin Rockies
6 months agoWith Colorado Rockies veteran Kris Bryant (rib cage) likely headed to the 10-day injured list on Thursday with rib-cage soreness, first baseman/outfielder Michael Toglia will likely be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to take his spot on the active roster. Toglia made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career this year but hit .106 in 15 games, with four of his five hits clearing the fences. Since being sent down, his hot has caught fire, as he's hit .277 with nine home runs and 27 RBI in 30 contests for the Isotopes. If Toglia's bat stays hot with the move back to Colorado, he could be an option for fantasy managers in NL-only leagues if he can earn some time at first base, designated hitter and right field. The 25-year-old switch-hitter has some nice power from both sides of the plate but has yet to put it all together at the major-league level, hitting .174 with 10 homers and 29 RBI in 91 games.
