Joe Pavelski Likely Hanging Up His Skates
10 months agoDallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski is leaning towards retirement after the team was eliminated in the Western Conference Final by the Edmonton Oilers. The veteran didn't want to make anything official but seemed pretty set in his decision to hang up his skates following his 18th NHL season. "This was it for me," Pavelski said. "Like, it was known for a while, probably. I don't want to say this is official, but the plan is not to be coming back." The soon-to-be 40-year-old remained productive this season, notching 27 goals and 67 points across 82 regular-season games but mustered just four points across 19 postseason contests. If this is indeed the end of the line, the former Sharks captain will retire with 476 goals and 1,068 career regular-season points across 1,332 games while adding 74 goals and 143 points across 201 postseason contests.

Joe Pavelski Shows Signs Of Life With Two-Point Effort
11 months agoDallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski enjoyed a two-point outing against the Avalanche in Wednesday's 5-3 loss. He scored his first postseason goal of the year and picked up a power-play assist. Pavelski is ranked fourth all-time among American skaters in playoff points in the NHL, but the veteran has been off his game in 2024. He had managed just one point in 11 games before Wednesday's contest. With Roope Hintz (upper body) and Tyler Seguin (undisclosed) battling injuries, Pavelski must do much more for Dallas to survive in the playoffs.

Joe Pavelski Scores Overtime Winner In Game 4
2 years agoDallas Stars right wing Joe Pavelski scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Golden Knights in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. Pavelski's power-play goal was scored on a one-timer from the faceoff circle and it ended the game just 3:18 into the extra frame, while it was the first goal of the series for the veteran forward. Since returning from an injury at the beginning of the second round, Pavelski has played a major role on the offensive end with nine goals and a total of 13 points through 12 games in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Pavelski and the Stars will need to replicate the result in Game 5 of the series on Saturday night in order to avoid elimination.

Joe Pavelski Ties Playoff Goals Record Among Active Players
2 years agoDallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski netted a power-play goal in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Seattle, tying Alex Ovechkin for the most playoff goals among active players. The veteran hit his 72nd career postseason goal 5:37 into the second period to give the Stars a little hope, but Dallas had already given up four goals by then and couldn't secure the Conference Finals ticket. Considering the success he's had in the series, Pavelski likely won't mind having another crack at the Kraken. He set a new franchise record for a single playoff series with his eighth goal Saturday and has amassed nine points in total across six games.
