Marquis Grissom Jr. Strikes Out Three In Double-A Debut
6 months agoWashington Nationals pitching prospect Marquis Grissom Jr. was promoted to Double-A Harrisburg on May 30, and in his Double-A debut on June 1, the righty threw one inning of relief, allowing one hit and walking none while striking out three batters. It was an impressive debut for the 22-year-old, but also more of the same from him, as he posted a 29.2% strikeout rate over 21 2/3 innings at High-A prior to his promotion. On the season, Grissom now has a 1.19 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 29:7 K:BB over 15 games while also picking up four saves during his time at High-A. With Mitchell Parker's graduation from prospect status, Grissom also moved onto the Nats' top-30 prospect list. With an MLB ETA of 2025, he could be making an impact in fantasy leagues that reward holds and saves relatively soon.
