Will Ty Gibbs Compete For A Top-10 Finish This Week At St. Louis?
6 months agoSophomore driver Ty Gibbs will start this week's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway from the ninth position. This marks the fourth time in a row this season and the first time ever at the St. Louis track that Gibbs will start from the Top 10. In his only start at WWTR last year, Gibbs placed 20th and lost Place Differential. The driver of the No. 54 Toyota ran better overall this season with eight top-10 finishes through 14 races, including three of the last four. In practice, Gibbs ranked among the Top 10 fastest drivers in all categories while ranking fifth or better in five, 20, and 25 consecutive lap averages. Based on his equipment and overall improved performance this year, Gibbs is a favored pick that will maintain a finish inside the Top 10.
