Garrett Mitchell Participates In Full Batting Practice
6 months agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell (finger) has recently participated in full batting practice and will start taking live at-bats soon. Mitchell suffered a fracture to his left index finger earlier in the spring and has been sidelined ever since. However, he has yet to face any setbacks and is nearing the end of his recovery process. The young outfielder has only appeared in 47 games at the major league level across the past two seasons and posted a .278/.315/.446 five home runs, and a 7:26 BB:K ratio. With how well he is progressing, a mid-June return date seems very possible. However, when he does return, he will join a crowded outfield with Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins, Jake Bauers, and Sal Frelick, which will make reliable playing time hard to find. Mitchell is worth adding in NL-only formats but should be left on the waiver wire in shallow leagues.
