ANALYSIS: Ben Brown makes his seventh start of the season for Chicago today as they take on the Cincinnati Reds. Brown has bounced back and forth between the rotation and bullpen, but his last two starts have been so impressive (16 strikeouts across 11 innings) that Chicago has decided to keep him in the rotation for now.
Brown's last outing, in particular, was a masterpiece as he went seven scoreless innings against the Brewers while striking out ten.

He's only throwing two pitches, but pairing a 97 mph fastball with a devastating curveball that has hitters flailing at it. The batted ball data on Brown suggests that he is likely in some regression in ERA, however, his elite 29.9% K% makes him a very appealing add.
We don't know if hitters will figure him out eventually, but for right now, the rookie is pitching incredibly well and is certainly worth a speculative add in all formats.
