Alexis Lafreniere Considered Day-To-Day
6 months agoNew York Rangers winger Alexis Lafreniere (upper body) is considered day-to-day. He could miss his first game of the season on Tuesday versus Montreal after picking up an upper-body injury. Lafreniere has feasted next to the red-hot Artemi Panarin this season, logging six points (three goals, three assists) in five games. Matt Rempe practiced in Lafreniere's spot on the second line on Monday. Rempe has a completely different profile as a player and can't be expected to have the same impact as Lafreniere. Jonny Brodzinski will be Lafreniere's likely replacement on the second power-play unit if he can't play on Tuesday.

Alexis Lafreniere Nets Two Goals In Game 3 Victory
10 months agoNew York Rangers winger Alexis Lafreniere ended a four-game point drought with a pair of goals in Sunday's 5-4 overtime victory against Florida. Lafreniere scored in each of the first two periods to help the Rangers grab a 4-2 lead ahead of the third frame. The 22-year-old reached six goals and 12 points for the postseason. Through 13 games, Lafreniere has averaged close to three shots per game, but he's lit the lamp in only four outings. Prior to Sunday's game, Lafreniere's lone goals had come during a three-game stretch early in the second round. It would be a big plus for the Rangers if the former first-overall pick could regularly help out on the offensive end.
