6 months agoIn his 2024 debut with the New York Yankees on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Griffin Canning, DJ LeMahieu (foot) is starting at third base and batting ninth. LeMahieu has yet to play this year due to a non-displaced fracture of his right foot that he suffered not long before Opening Day on March. The 35-year-old infielder could be eased back into starting duties at the hot corner in the Bronx, but eventually, he's expected to be the Yankees' everyday third baseman. Fantasy managers won't complain to have LeMahieu back as infield depth, but a permanent move to the bottom of New York's batting order will limit his counting-stat upside tremendously. The three-time All-Star is trying to bounce back from last year, when he hit .243/.327/.390 with 15 homers and 44 RBI in 136 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
