Stefon Diggs 2024 Outlook: High Risk, High Reward In First Season As Texan
7 months agoAfter scoring as the WR3 through the first nine weeks, Stefon Diggs saw his production take a nosedive over the back half of the 2023 campaign. The former Buffalo Bill failed to record a 100-yard outing and scored just one touchdown from Week 10 on. While Diggs may be past his prime athletically, the Houston Texans were willing to bet on the 30-year-old for the price of a 2025 second-round pick when they acquired him earlier this offseason. In Houston, Diggs joins a talented receiver room that includes Nico Collins and Tank Dell, both of whom were pleasant surprises for fantasy purposes last year. The potential of second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud is exciting, but it remains to be seen if he can support multiple fantasy-relevant wideouts for an entire season. Still, Houston managed a respectable 22.2 points per game in 2023 and should be expected to improve offensively. Given Diggs' track record as a target hog, his outlook as Stroud's prospective go-to guy cannot be ignored. There is also a chance, however, that Diggs, Collins, and Dell split opportunities fairly evenly and disappoint at their respective ADPs. Although Diggs carries more risk this season than he ever did in Buffalo, he should be viewed as a WR2 with top-10 upside in the third round of fantasy drafts.
