The Minnesota Twins struggled offensively for much of the first month of the season before going on a two-week winning streak that put them back into contention in the AL Central.
One of the biggest absences from their lineup was third baseman Royce Lewis, who was hitting clean-up for the Twins before injuring his quad going from first to third on the basepaths back in March.
Lewis has been out for nearly two months but is nearing a return and could provide some much-needed production in the Twins' lineup and for fantasy baseball managers who drafted him with an early-round pick.

Royce Lewis Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Lewis has started baserunning exercises, has been hitting in the cage, and taking some ground balls. The Twins are easing him back into some drills and making sure that his hamstring responds positively.
Royce Lewis ran the bases for the first time yesterday. He fared well last week with change of directions. #MNTwins should have a better sense of his progress when they return home Friday.

As of right now there is no timetable for a rehab assignment, but Minnesota would like to see him in game action before activating him. If Lewis doesn't suffer any setbacks, a return to the lineup could be coming by July - which would still give him several months of potential production in the second half of the season.
Royce Lewis Fantasy Baseball Outlook
Lewis is rostered in 92% of Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues. After hitting 15 home runs and stealing six bases last year in only 58 games, fantasy managers were expecting a huge breakout season from Lewis. While missing several months is going to prevent him from having a huge year in overall stats, he could still return and be very productive for fantasy teams in HR, R, RBI, and average, with a few steals mixed in, too.
Hang onto Lewis with an IR spot for as long as you possibly can. He has the type of talent to be a game-changer or even a league winner if he can return to the lineup healthy and produce at the same level that he did to finish the 2023 season.
