Walker Jenkins Returns To Game Action
11 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (hamstring) returned to the Twins rookie-level complex facility on Monday as a designated hitter to begin his return to action. Jenkins, 19, is the Twins No.1 prospect and he has been sidelined all season with a left hamstring strain. The outfielder has dealt with a flurry of injuries since being selected with the fifth overall pick in 2023, but he offers plenty to be excited about when he is healthy. Swinging from the left side, Jenkins has very quick bat speed and he makes a lot of hard contact. His power should also continue to improve as his body is still maturing. Jenkins is likely to open his season in Single-A, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him reach High-A before the season is over with an eye on Double-A next season. Jenkins is still a few years away from a potential big-league promotion, but he is worth a look in dynasty leagues.

Walker Jenkins Has Mild Ankle Sprain
4 weeks agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (ankle) suffered a mild ankle sprain. Jenkins sustained this injury when jumping for a ball. Dan Hayes of The Athletic noted that this injury is not serious and is just "1-to-2 weeks behind." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the next week as he may begin to return to baseball activities in the coming days. Last season, Jenkins was only limited to 82 games of action as he dealt with a hamstring strain. Across 34 games with High-A, the former fifth overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft held a .290/.382/.481 slash line with three home runs and eight stolen bases. However, in his brief taste of Double-A, Jenkins held a .160 AVG across six contests. Fantasy managers should expect the budding star to open the campaign with Double-A.

Walker Jenkins Logs Another Multi-Hit Game
7 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins recorded his seventh multi-hit game this month for High-A Cedar Rapids with a 2-for-4 performance on Thursday. The 19-year-old is hitting .250/.318/.368 in 19 games since his promotion to High-A. With three different teams this season, Jenkins has totaled three homers and 47 RBI in 61 games. The No. 4 prospect in all of baseball, Jenkins is off to a good start to his professional career although he has been limited a bit this season by injuries. He has taken some time to adjust to High-A, but at 19 years old, that is to be expected. His ceiling is sky-high.
