Why Chase Elliott Is A Core Play In DFS This Weekend At North Wilkesboro
6 months agoChase Elliott will start 15th in Sunday's All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. After a disappointing 2023, a season in which Elliott was forced to miss significant time due to an injury he sustained snowboarding, the second-generation Cup driver has had quite the bounce back in 2024. Entering this weekend's All-Star Race, Elliott sits fourth in the playoff standings as he has a win and five top-five finishes in the 13 races this year. Likewise, in the three short track races this season, Elliott has looked phenomenal. After finishing eighth at Bristol, a race that was plagued by tire issues, the 28-year-old finished fifth at Richmond and then third at Martinsville, averaging 50.33 DraftKings points for his efforts. In addition to his success on short tracks, the 2020 Cup Series champion looked strong at this track during last year's All-Star Race. After starting 13th, the Hendrick Motorsports star finished fifth, which earned him a spot in the DraftKings optimal lineup. Between his success on short tracks, his performance at North Wilkesboro last season, and the fact that his starting position provides place differential upside, the No. 9 should be looked at as a core play in DFS this weekend.
