Trey McBride vs. Dalton Kincaid – Who Should I Draft In 2024 Fantasy Football?

Trey McBride - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Should fantasy players draft Trey McBride or Dalton Kincaid during their 2024 fantasy football drafts? Mike Fanelli examines the case for both star tight ends.

Fantasy football players know that the tight end position is one of the most unpredictable in the game. Travis Kelce has been the clear-cut TE1 for years. However, he had a down 2023 season, leading many to name someone else as the TE1 in their 2024 rankings.

While many have Sam LaPorta as the top tight end in their early rankings, there is a debate for the TE2 spot. Trey McBride and Dalton Kincaid are two of the top young tight ends in the NFL. Both players had impressive moments last year.

However, which tight end should fantasy players draft first? Let’s dive into McBride and Kincaid’s fantasy football outlook for the 2024 season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Trey McBride’s 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

McBride had a breakout sophomore year in 2023. He finished the season as the TE9, averaging 8.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the young tight end was unbelievable after Zach Ertz got hurt and was eventually released. McBride was the TE4 starting in Week 8 through the end of the season, averaging 11.7 fantasy points per game.

Furthermore, he became a go-to target once Kyler Murray was healthy. The former Colorado State star had at least seven targets in all but one game with the superstar quarterback under center. McBride made several impressive plays throughout the season and should be even better in 2024.

Dalton Kincaid’s 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

While Kincaid didn’t have an elite rookie season like LaPorta, the former Utah star flashed massive upside. He was the TE11 last year, averaging 7.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, Kincaid stepped up when Dawson Knox or Gabe Davis missed time with injuries.

The talented tight end averaged 10.3 fantasy points per game in the seven contests with seven or more targets, totaling 11 or more in over half of the matchups. Many have high expectations for Kincaid this upcoming season after the Buffalo Bills lost Davis and Stefon Diggs this offseason.

Who Should I Draft?

Fantasy players can’t go wrong with either tight end. Both players are emerging stars on good offenses, play with talented quarterbacks, and have limited weapons around them. However, I have McBride higher than Kincaid in my rankings.

While both players should see a massive target share, the Bills have more weapons outside their tight end than the Arizona Cardinals. Both players are top-three tight ends, but McBride has a safer floor and offers more upside.
