Just when the Reds finally felt like they had an ace pitcher in place to lead their rotation, another injury strikes.
While Hunter Greene might be the more well-known pitcher on the staff, but Lodolo has been getting the best results and completely shutting down opponents at times.
After missing almost the entire first month of the season, Lodolo had returned to the Reds and was pitching well, but is now heading to the 15-day IL with a left groin strain.

Nick Lodolo Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Lodolo was roughed up by the Giants in his last start, allowing four earned runs in six innings. He claims that he first felt the pain in his groin during a bullpen session before his appearance but he attempted to make his last start anyway.
Lodolo could have attempted to continue to pitch through the injury, which sounds minor for now, but the Reds wanted to be extra cautious with their ace.

Lodolo made only seven starts last season during an injury-plagued campaign but the team is hopeful that this is just a precautionary move and that he spends the minimum amount of time on the shelf.
Nick Lodolo Fantasy Baseball Outlook
The left-hander was pitching very well for the Reds and is a fantasy player who needs to be held on your IR until he returns, especially since it might not be that long.
Lodolo has massive strikeout potential. He has 43 strikeouts across his first 35 innings which is good for a K/9 of 11.06.

We have yet to see what Lodolo can do with a full season, but he racked up 131 strikeouts across 103 innings back in 2022. Stashing him on your IL is a priority, he oozes potential and upside.
