11 months agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz produced his second career four-point postseason game as the team tied the Western Conference semifinals series against Colorado in Game 2 with a 5-3 victory. Hintz finally got things clicking in the offensive zone after posting only one point through his first eight appearances this postseason. He scored Dallas' second goal and had three assists, including two on the power play. Hintz will head into Saturday's Game 3 boasting the third-most three-point efforts in the playoffs among Finnish players. He moved past Sebastian Aho on Thursday with his seventh such game and now trails only Esa Tikkanen (10) and Jari Kurri (28).--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz (face) will be sidelined for at least one week. He sustained a facial injury on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers when a puck struck him in the second period. Hintz is once again sitting among Dallas' scoring leaders in 2024-25, boasting 25 goals and 52 points in 59 appearances. Wyatt Johnston, who has notched 60 points (24 goals, 36 assists) in 64 games, took over the first-line center duties in Sunday's matchup against the Vancouver Canucks. He looks set to fill the role for at least two more games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz (upper body) exited early during their loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday evening. Hintz took a deflected shot to the face. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status. He was taken to the hospital for further testing as well. The team may opt to keep Hintz sidelined for their next contest which is on Sunday evening against the Vancouver Canucks even if the injury is not serious. Before departing, the 28-year-old tallied two blocked shots and did not get on the scoresheet. However, entering this contest, Hintz was riding an impressive six-game point streak. During this stretch, he tallied 16 points (three goals) with seven of the points coming on the power-play. If Hintz were to miss time, fantasy managers should expect either Matt Duchene or Wyatt Johnston to move up to the top forward line alongside Mikko Rantanen and Jason Robertson.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz posted a second consecutive four-point game with one goal and three assists in Sunday's 6-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues. He notched his goal early in the second period during even-strength play and picked up all of his assists with the man advantage. The Finnish forward became only the second Stars/North Stars player in the past 40 years to record back-to-back four-point games, following Tyler Seguin in 2018-19. He has a chance to become the first one with three consecutive four-point efforts on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils. Hintz has started to turn his season around, reaching 47 points (24 goals, 23 assists) in 56 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoDallas Stars center Roope Hintz tallied four helpers during their victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday evening. This was a career-high total. In the opening frame, he tallied two helpers, one on Jason Robertson's strike (secondary assist) and the other on Matt Duchene's power-play goal (primary assist). In the second, Hintz tallied his second power-play helper, this time on the primary assist to set up Wyatt Johnson on his 18th goal of the campaign. Later in the third, Hintz would cap off his impressive evening with another primary assist on Logan Stankoven's second goal of the evening. This outing extended his current point streak to four games. Over his last five, Hintz has found the back of the net once and added seven helpers. He will look to stay hot on Sunday evening against the St. Louis Blues.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
