Patrick Cantlay Looking To Reverse Quail Hollow Fortunes
7 months agoPatrick Cantlay won't be on any course-horse lists as he heads to Charlotte this week. The PGA Tour star and current No. 8 golfer in the official rankings has had a rough go of things in his last two starts at Quail Hollow. He finished with a middling T21 last year while carrying a $10,500 DraftKings salary, and in 2021 he missed the cut altogether. As the fourth-most expensive golfer in the field this week, fantasy managers may want to take a risk with Cantlay reversing his fortunes in this year's rendition of the Wells Fargo Championship. He's teed off in five Signature Events this calendar year, posting a T12 at the Sentry, a T11 at the AT&T Pro-Am, a T4 at the Genesis Invitational, a T36 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and most recently a T3 at the RBC Heritage at the end of April. Cantlay's inaccuracy off the tee should be mitigated here, and he enters the week ranking fourth in strokes gained on long courses and seventh in par-five scoring over the last 24 rounds. All signs point toward Cantlay finding himself in contention down the stretch on Sunday.
