With the 2024 NFL Draft over, teams are putting the finishing touches on their training camp rosters. Therefore, they can get more undrafted free agents or sign veterans still looking for a team.
Among the players eagerly awaiting their chance to continue their NFL journey are Kareem Hunt, Leonard Fournette, and Dalvin Cook. Hunt, who stepped up for Nick Chubb last season, left an indelible mark with 411 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Despite playing a bigger role in their offense, the Cleveland Browns did not re-sign him.
Conversely, Cook had 237 rushing yards for the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens after four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Fournette played two games for the Buffalo Bills last season, tallying 12 carries for 40 yards.

While their numbers might complicate earning another contract, here are some teams that could use these running backs' services.
Kareem Hunt to the New York Giants
Having signed Devin Singletary to a three-year contract, the Giants need more options from the backfield after losing Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles. With inexperienced players like Eric Gray, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Gary Brightwell, the team could greatly benefit from Hunt's experience and skill set.
Hunt can serve as the Giants' No. 2 option behind Singletary, like how he did it for Chubb. Having him in the backfield relieves some pressure off Daniel Jones, who has much to prove in 2024 because his four-year, $160 million contract has an opt-out after the season.

Leonard Fournette to the Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys brought back Ezekiel Elliott after playing one season in New England. He will compete for the starting role vacated by Tony Pollard, who signed with the Tennessee Titans. However, the Cowboys' rotation needs more depth beyond Elliott, Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn, and Royce Freeman.
Dallas will be in for a treat if Fournette rediscovers his peak form. He had two 1,000-yard rushing seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that's the spark the Cowboys need in the run game.
Dalvin Cook to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rachaad White is an excellent pass-catcher among running backs, tallying 64 receptions for 549 yards and three touchdowns. However, he doesn't offer much on the ground, averaging only 3.7 yards per carry.
That's a significant reason the Buccaneers finished last in rushing yards per game (88.8) last season. Tampa Bay added Bucky Irving through the draft, but the jury is still out on his NFL performance.
It wasn't long ago that Cook was a Pro Bowl-level receiver. The Buccaneers can support their vaunted passing attack with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans if Cook dominates again for their cause.
