While most high-profile free agent wide receivers have already found new teams this offseason, there are still several WRs on the market who could have an impact on the 2024 fantasy football season.
Following a career year in 2022, veteran wide receiver Zay Jones spent a large chunk of the 2023 season dealing with various injuries. After signing WR Gabe Davis to a free agent contract and drafting rookie burner Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round of the NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars suddenly have a crowded receiver room.
After Jacksonville's recent acquisitions, is Jones a free agent? Where will he sign? Let's dive in and find out.

Is Zay Jones a Free Agent?
After posting a career-high 823 receiving yards for the surging Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, the well-traveled Jones struggled through an injury-riddled campaign in 2023. He appeared in just nine games with the Jags last season while posting his lowest statistical output since 2020.
Following the acquisitions of Gabe Davis via free agency and Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round of the recent NFL Draft, Jones was recently released by Jacksonville in part due to a suddenly crowded receiving corps, as well as the large $10.8 million salary cap hit that he was going to account for if with the Jags in 2024.

Which Teams Would be the Best Fit for Zay Jones?
High-profile wideouts such as Calvin Ridley, Marquise Brown, and Gabe Davis have found new teams on the open market in 2024, while established stars like Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., and Mike Evans are set to remain with their current squads in the season ahead. Other franchises picked up young receivers in the recent 2024 NFL Draft. That said, there are still plenty of teams that could use the type of experience and depth that Jones could provide in the coming season.
Though there hasn't been much chatter on specific landing spots for Jones, there are a few teams that make sense. The Los Angeles Chargers saw trusted veterans Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both exit the team this offseason, and while the Bolts did pick up Ladd McConkey in the second round of the NFL Draft, depth at receiver is still a glaring hole for Los Angeles. Like the Chargers, the Arizona Cardinals addressed their WR need in the draft with the selection of potential star Marvin Harrison Jr., however the Cards could still use help with their mostly unproven receiving corps. It was recently reported that Jones is visiting with the Tennessee Titans. There's a sensible connection there, as new Titans OC Nick Holz was in Jacksoville with Jones last year.
Free agent WR Zay Jones, who was released after the NFL Draft by the #Jaguars, is visiting the #Titans today, source said.
Jones has an obvious connection to Tennessee OC Nick Holz, as the two were both in Jacksonville last year.

Perhaps the most exciting landing spot for Jones would be the Kansas City Chiefs. While KC was still good enough to win the Super Bowl title last year, it wasn't due to a superstar group of receivers. They've taken steps to address that this offseason, landing Marquise Brown in free agency and Texas speedster Xavier Worthy with a first-round draft pick. Despite those additions they could still be a player for Jones' services, as emerging wideout Rashee Rice remains a huge question mark due to his off-the-field legal issues, veteran Marquez Valdes-Scantling was recently released, and the duo of Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney have been completely ineffective in the Chiefs offense.
