The 2024 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror, and it’s on to rookie drafts. While the first round of rookie drafts has a consistent ADP, things get wild starting in the second round.
One decision fantasy players must make is picking between two second-round wide receivers – Ja'Lynn Polk and Adonai Mitchell. Both players were Day 2 NFL Draft picks.
Which one should fantasy players draft? Let’s dive into it.

Ja'Lynn Polk Fantasy Football Outlook
Polk started his college career before transferring to Washington in 2021. He had a quiet first year with the team. Yet, the receiver broke out after the arrival of Michael Penix Jr. Polk had 110 receptions for 1,853 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns over his final two seasons at Washington.
More importantly, the rookie can make plays downfield for Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye. His ability to make tough catches while controlling his body will get him on the field early in his rookie season.

Adonai Mitchell Fantasy Football Outlook
Mitchell played one year at Texas after spending his first two at Georgia. The explosive receiver had 55 receptions for 845 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 2023, beating his career totals in every category entering the year. More importantly, he led Texas in receiving touchdowns last season while ranking first in the Big 12.
The former Longhorn will be part of an emerging offense led by Anthony Richardson. Mitchell will pair up with Michael Pittman Jr., giving the second-year quarterback two outside red zone weapons. Furthermore, Mitchell can make highlight reel plays downfield, creating more space in the box for Jonathan Taylor.

Should I Draft Ja'Lynn Polk or Adonai Mitchell?
This debate would be a slam dunk three weeks ago, before the NFL Draft. Mitchell was a projected first-round pick, while Polk was a late second-round selection. However, Polk was drafted in the early second round, while Mitchell got picked in the mid-second round.
Yet, the decision remains simple – take Mitchell over Polk. The Colts have the better quarterback situation, offense, and coaching staff. Mitchell was also the better pre-draft prospect. While Polk could be the No. 1 wide receiver in New England this season, Mitchell is the far better athlete and had a better production profile.
